qBOS provides facilities for defining the organisational model, designing a quality system that fits the organisational characteristics, managing its implementation and updating and revising the quality system.
qBOS provides special tools for designing and managing processes, measurements, document templates and reports. The Process Designer tool allows users to specify graphically the operational processes of the company and the documentation is produced automatically for each process. A template and report designer allows users to create their own system documentation. Automatic version control is available for templates, documents, business objects and processes.
The overall approach involves inserting quality manuals and guides reviewing the qBOS reference processes and specifying changes. For each task assigned to selected roles (e.g. quality) manager the qBOS application will filter the relevant forms, guidelines, etc in folders and will specify actions to be performed.
Notifications of all quality related requirements are provided. Taking the example of non-conformity management, the appropriate project manager will be notified to do the marking of a non conforming product.
Distributed quality records can be easily managed. The notification of a quality action takes the user directly to the task where he can see instructions and record his action. He has access to a view of the form, e.g. non conformity, with read only fields and editable fields as specified.
The manager as every user can chose the recipient for the next activity in the work flow taking into account work balancing parameters.
The Quality system administrator can customise, maintain and extend the application following easy to perform tasks.
